Brake Controller

What kind of brake controllers are you people using? What do you recommend? I am pulling more weight now and I want better control and manual control also

I'd say the best, but expensive are the Brakesmart and the Maxbrake. Both have solid state fluid pressure sensors, and apply the trailer brakes in direct proportion to fluid pressure in the tow vehicle.

Technocia Prodegy or P3 I think are generally considered the best among the deceleration sensing type of proportional brakes, and are less expensive.

Don't even consider a time based unit.

Brakesmart-that's Dr Performance right? That's a little more than I want to spend.. I was thinking of the Tekonsha P-3 sounds like a good controller for the money. Thanks

The p-3 has the option for electric / hydraulic brakes, It also has more color options to match your truck lights.. I run two of them and like them both.

i use the prodigy for towing a 14,000 and 10,000 trailers. i am pleased with it's performance

I used the P-3 and I am very happy with the results-perfect for my needs.
