As a professional RV transporter and commercial truck driver (hotshot), I have been on the road for over 40 years. I have used all types and brands of brake controllers, and for my money, safety, and peace of mind, the Tekonsha Prodigy or the Tekonsha P3 brake controllers get my vote as best all around. You may pay 2 or 3 times as much for a brakeSmart, but the end result is the same. Both are smooth a a stoplight, both are aggressive in a panic stop. If money is no object, go Brakesmart. If you want reliability and dependability, and a reasonable price, go with Tekonsha. This is experience talking. I log 160k to 180k miles every year.
