I bought mine from tweety's RV superstore (online)... $339.95 ...It was about the cheapest I could find. They offered free shipping, but I did have to pay taxes on it due to them being located here in Texas with me..... Still, the shipping being free saved me a bunch of $$$$$ and I got it quick...

I just finished my install of the B & W. I had many problems with mine. Nothing I couldn't work through, but still got me frustrated. The rails didn't want to go in...not enough room between the bed and the frame. Then when I did get them in, the threaded bolt holes were too high and didn't line up with the center section. Now that one took a lot of time and was really frustrating! I took it back down and turned the rail bars over thinking that the tapped holes were just off center. Well I was wrong. So a lot of prying I finally got that part in. Then when putting the side rail plates on i had to cut off tabs that were on the bed from the factory for line up reasons off, because they were in the way. Then I come to find that pieces didn't line up to the existing holes in the frame like they were supposed to. I had to grind those holes egg shaped to get them to fit! When all done. It works nice, but I would have payed someone else to put it in for me if I knew it was going to be that much of a headache. If everything would line up like it is supposed to, then it wouldn't be a bad job. But mine didn't. I think alot of it was that my truck has 140000 miles on it and the bed bottem is pushed down a little from wieght being in there. I didn't think it was, but after my headache install that is the only thing I can figure. Unless my particular hitch was a little out of speck. Everything lined up left to right and front to back, it was the up and down that killed me.

I have to say I hated mine in my 01 and would never put one in again. It always got wedged in with rocks or dirt. In the winter it would get frozen in. I hated that thing.

I did about the same except I did mine before I installed the hitch, did not like the gray showing like it did on my other truck. As said easy install, I did not even fret about cutting the 4" hole in the bed this time 2nd install for me
I did the same with mine.

This type of thing will happen with a receiver hitch and ball mount too, if left in all the time, for this reason it is better to remove either the turn overball or companion hitch when not in use. JMHO

I have a real nice tonneau cover that will lift in the rear that I keep on most of the time. I think it will protect it. I really like the hitch. It was just a real pain to put on my particular truck.

I think that either my truck has an extra heavy frame(wa ha)and/or the rail pieces from B & W was a little on the wide side. They were only off by close to an eighth inch, but it was more than enough to make it very difficult to do!

Mine was a bit of a pain to that effect too.... mainly had to do with how bowed and dented the bottom of the bed is, but I put the plate where it needed to go and pushed it up with a floor jack while i put the sides on.... that pushed the bed up far enough that the crossmembers slid right into place....

I got mine from Tweetys.com for like $320 to my door with free shipping. Even more impressive I had it at my door in under 24 hours.

We just launched an air-ride adaptor to change over the 5th wheel to a gooseneck. It actually rides as good or better than our TS3 5th wheel hitch. However, it does reduce the weight rating to 16k with a 3k tongue weight. That 16k is a very comfortable 16k, though. We were going to go with 20k, but added a big safety margin. It's a good idea for anyone who wants a clean bed or tows another gooseneck trailer.

I have seen others that have had them in trucks and they hate them. They end up leaving the ball up especially in the winter. They don't fold down or up when you get dirt, snow and ice in them. My suggestion is to get a turnover style.

I have the Valley version of the turnover ball, and that works well also. I had a B&W in my previous truck and it worked well also. I would recomend either one. They both run about the same price.
