B & W side plate templates

Anyone know where I can get a template for the side frame plates for the B & W turnover ball for my truck 2001 CTD HO 4x4? I've got the rest just need them. I would really like to get something already marked and all but I can fabricate pretty well.

Also if no templates, straight forward pics would work good too. I can get measurements pretty close before purchasing steel.

Thanks Ya'll

Cory

I don't keep any hitches in stock to show you, but you can order just the rail kit and save yourself alot of time and trouble.

I got quoted $177 for the just the rail kit, hmmm, 2 pieces of angle iron and 2 pieces of flat metal, Even with the increase in steel prices, that's rediculous. I just need a picture to get the dimensions down, then I can have it plasma cut and cleaned in no time.

I would rather spend an hour or two cutting metal than almost 2 days pay on some angle iron.

You are also paying for their warranty, their brand name and most important, in the event of an accident the fact that it is their hitch and not your homemade one. That's not knocking anybodies abilities, just legalities.

In the event of an accident, the question will not be the hitch but rather the trailer truck combo. Because a hitch is commercially made as opposed to a machine shop made doesn't make it any better. Warranty, yeah, maybe, but being my center section is second hand, I don't think it's even applicable?

I understand the whole, homemade versus namebrand arguement, BUT when the pieces missing are simple angle iron pieces and not any mechanical pieces, I am not concerned.

None of the side plate set-up use any angle iron. They are flat plate that is bent in certain places to make the correct angle's. It would be a lot of trouble, I'd just buy the pieces you need from them and forget about it.

The angle iron is the side to side pieces that hold the center section to the side plates.

I do alot of fabricating. I know how to get the angles down to mount it, I was really just wanting a good side pic of the plates to get a good idea of how they are done. This is seeming to be harder than I thought.

the 2nd gen sideplates are not on their site. I tried that long ago. In their installation instructions, you can see them a little put their pic is too grainy and small, you blow it up any and it gets all distorted.

I contacted them and no reply yet. I talked to a dealer near me and they said it was cheaper to buy the whole rail kit then just the side plates too.

Oh well, maybe I have wasted more time calling around then just ordering, but I am a tightwad

Thanks for the try P.O.R
