Anyone out there still towing with their lifted second gen. truck? Im looking into a lift and wondering how my towability will be afected...

 

I tow a 27' Baja boat from May-Sept. About 6k lbs. I use the factory receiver hitch w/a 10" drop from Croft Trailer rated @ 10k lbs. The highest egts seen are 1150*, WOT fuel psi @ 21, and 200* deg on the rebuilt trans. So far so good. I'm preparing to haul a 37' sportfishing boat to it's port (200miles) which I believe weighs about 10-12k lbs, maybe more. Any experiences or tips would be appreciated. This will be a non-commercial haul.

 

I have 3" lifts on both my 2nd and 3rd gens,they both tow just fine.I don't know of any high quality 4.5" kits that I would want to run.

I tow a 29ft TT about 10k with no problems. The only thing I would have done differently would be to have 4:10's instead of the 3:73's, but I bought it off the lot. It pulls great, but the 7% hills work it good.
