Anybody built a wind deflector
Has anyone built a wind deflector, I'm thinking about building an adjustable one for different size trailers and cruising.
I built one for my 92 duelly. A waste of time and materials, plus the downward force dented my roof. IF you could make one large enough to actually reduce the drag of your camper (height and width and don't forget the sides that stick out beyond the width of your pick-up) you MIGHT see a 3 % increase in mileage which is about what the 18 wheelers get with their full fairings. Do the math and you wll see you will have to pull a trailer many, many thousands of miles to break even.
Why build your own?
I've had this site in my favorites for a while: Wind Deflectors
Look down at that 3 piece adjustable unit. Not too shabby and removable at that.

That's the site I was looking at after I posted this thread. Looks interesting. I may have to give it a try.
By the way, I don't have a camper, it's a 7'6" wide 7'+ tall goosneck living quarters horse trailer.
