No that airbags will provide increased stability, and be dual functioning.

For what it's worth, I think more tire pressure will also add stability and better mileage(a little). I would run 75-80 up front and at least 70 rear, with a load.
Your 1000 CTD sits on those front tires, as well as some load.
It may ride rougher, but handle better.

Ride Rites

I installed the Ride Rites with the Dual Air Command in the cab lower cubby hole of the center dash, see "my photo gallery". I can have my wife adjust on the fly each real wheel independently. The anti-sway bar would definitely help for sudden changes in cross winds. Just pass an 18 wheeler in a good crosswind. First you are in the cross wind, then the cross wind is blocked, then you hit the bow wake from the front of the 18 wheeler cab (cab over truck the worse), and finally back to the cross wind. Definitely can rock you especially with a camper shell.

I have personally found the swaybar to provide noticably more sway control when loaded heavy over independently plumbed bags. I have the larger Hellwig bar in the rear of my 03 and it works well with the Pacbrake bags. Skip the Addco bar for the 3rd gens - it is only 7/8". The Hellwig is 1 1/8". The ultimate is to run bags and a swaybar. This is the way I haul my 11.5' slide-in....I wouldn't want to do it any other way.

Timbren's work well for sway and load control.
