Air Bags

I have a 93 250 and I tow a 26 foot travel trailer. I am looking into getting air bags.

So, what is a good brand of air bags and what do they cost. Does anyone have a set of used bags?

Thanks

I installed a set of Air Ride Technologies Air Over Leaf bags, as helpers on my 95 Chevy K1500.
The whole shooting match was a little over $800 for the parts. I had it installed, but I suspect that if I do it again, I would do the install.
You mount the bags to the frame, under the leaf springs. The compressor mounts in the engine bay, on the inner fender. The tank was mounted under the cab, next to the drivers side frame rail. A small control panel is mounted in the cab (I mounted it in a console on the floor).
A bonus I got was insalling a fitting to attach an air hose. Now I can (slowly) fill tires. Compressor will drive up to about 165 psi.
Doesn't affect the ride when empty, but with a load, it levels out the truck, and rides great. Don't forget to always run 5-10 psi in the bags, so the loose bag material can rub and cause a leak.

I have used Air lift 5000 lb Superduty bags for years.....I have a set of them in my 3500. They work well and are simple to install......you should be able to get the kit for around $300.....add another $150 for a compressor kit if you don't want to manually fill them.

I was running 20 psi empty and its too much. run around 45 with the trailer on and it keeps me off the overloads, smooths the ride and levels the truck.

.......Ride Rites are the Firestone bags, right?.....those are high quality bags......if I bought another set, I would probably go with them but the Air lifts are quite durable.....The Air lift set up I use automatically keeps 5 psi in the bags when you empty them to prevent them from damage if the bags have no pressure.......I removed my overloads completely and replaced them with the bags.......I found the ride to be rougher in an empty truck with the over loads because they were smacking there stoppers on even very small bumps.....when the overloads hit the stoppers when the truck was empty, it felt like the suspension was non existent. With my slide-in and the Jeep/trailer in tow, I run 70 psi in the bags and the truck rides and handles beautifully.
