Advice on pulling 5ther and PWC trailer behind
I have another post below asking questions about the
Husky 16K slider hitch for our new 5ther. We pick it up
next week. The dealer agreed to install a Husky 16K slider
hitch....should I upgrade this to a 20K slider hitch iif we plan
on pulling a 2 place trailer with two 3 seater PWC behind
our 5ther?..The dry weight of the Keystone Laredo 29HS is
7800lb and the pin weight is approx 1200lbs
My tow vehicle is listed below.
Thanks in advance, 03CTDCO

Upgrade the hitch for sure. The extra tail will be wagging the dog. Check with CO Motor Vehicles Dept for any special equipment requirements. Most states are now requiring special driver's license also. And lastly check with your Auto Insurance Company. They will probably charge extra for a rider to tow the 2nd trailer. Some companies don't insure such combos...

Re:Advice on pulling 5ther and PWC trailer behind
I don't think its absolutely necessary to change out to a heavier hitch for pulling a PWC trailer. I would think you would have plenty of margin with a 16k hitch.
I've seen a few PWC doubles out here (pulled mostly by Expeditions/Tahoes), and all the front trailers had some addl gusseting for the ball mount to pull the rear trailer. I'd do the same for your 5er.
There has been lots of discussion on pulling RV doubles on this site lately; try a search.
