6.7 with 3000 camper
hello,
have ordered a 2011 6.7 dually and plan on putting a 3000 lbs. camper on the back of the truck. i know these trucks need to be worked and wondering if this camper would do just that, work the truck hard. not a lot of weight but if i keep the RPMs up and have the camper on full time i am thinking will serve to work the CTD. your thoughts please!
thanks,
david

JMHO, you will not notice that load in your truck much but it will assist in the break-in...just real slow.
I would suggest when you can hook up to something over 8K pounds and go for a good run...500 miles or more. Seat that engine in nicely. Dump the oil after first 500 and then do the load/break-in.
Congrats on the new rig.

My lance weighs 3500lb. It does squat the rear to the bumpstops. I would plan on airbags, and probably wireless air. I'm saving my pennies for wireless air controller.
Ride is nice, though.
I would also plan on basic gauges: water temp, trans temp, fuel pressure, oil pressure, and pyro. I can hit 1500F towing the camper up a hill; I can hit 1400F empty getting on the freeway! BTW...the truck is bone stock!
