5th wheel hitch questions

I have a 04 Dodge ram 2500 Quad cab short bed.
I need to know what the best Fifth Wheel Hitch would be?
I understand you cant drill into frame or it will void the warranty on the truck.
Is that right??
I am thinking about the SuperGlide 16K
It appears that the superglide is a no drill install
Can I adapt it to a goose neck too??

I want it to be able to adapt a gooseneck
I also want it to be a slider.
and I want it to pivot 4 ways...side to side ,front to back

Thanks

I don't have the answers to your questions, but I believe some states and provinces do NOT allow fifth wheel hitches that pivot side to side. You'll need to check on that to make sure.

I'm getting ready to put a reese underbed slider sig. series in mine, which needs 4 holes, and these are Dodges guide lines for drilling holes in the frame.http://www.dodge.com/bodybuilder/200...ocs/dr/rcn.pdf

On the reese, you drill thru one wall of the box frame, and fish a bolt to the outside, to put the nut on, and the hole is 21/32 in size, and is located in the middle of the frame beam, so it's within their specs. in every way.

I don’t know about a slider that will adapt to a GN easily. But if you want the best slider go with the Pullrite. It slides automatically and it’s a 4 way pivot.

I don't think a full swivel fiver hitch would be a problem in any state or province - - it is a pretty standard requirement for a hitch.

It is OK to drill the Dodge frame if you follow the recommendations from the manufacturer. The Reese kit instructions follow those recommendations and will not affect the warranty.

you may weld/drill our 3rd gen frames per TSB 13-001-03 dated 2/7/03. My '03 hitch brackets were welded 52000+ mile ago. There are kits to drill and clamp on brackets fron the hitch manufactors.
For your question on Superglide I would call/E-mail the manufactor and get the latest tech info on your application.......JIM

I use a DSP slider in mine....make sure you have it foward when driving with the short bed.....if you have it in the rear position while driving and hit a bump.....well lets jyst say the fronts will come off the ground!! LOL. Just remember full foward drive away....full rearward only for backing into tight campsites

your gooseneck adapter will also fit on the valley rails, but should not slide,

the husky pivots four ways
