5th wheel hitch

5th wheel hitch

Hi , can anyone tell me if there 5th wheel hitch moves a bit when towing, mine sounds like its moving just a bit makes more noice then anything, on stoping and starting, i sat in the back of the bed, had the wife drive for a bit could not see any movment but it sure did sound bad, i keep it all grease up good, is it just time to replace the hitch?????? or this is normal

I think you are just hearing the king pin moving around in the hitch. There has to be a slight amount of play in there or you would not get it unhitched at times, nor would you get it to lock if everything was not lined up perfect. They all will give you a little clunking.

Some movement of the pin is normal.....besure to check your frame attacting bolts these can loosen and shift with age/useage
