5th wheel hitch

I have a B&W 5th wheel sitting in the shed and I am debating on installing it or not. My pickup is lifted and while i do not tow alot I would like to be able to Pull a 5th wheel trailer once in awhile. My concern is that I will not be able to pull a trailer that is not modified in some way to accomadate for the lift. Also, i do not want to harm the resale value by installing a 5th wheel hitch and not doing alot of towing? Would you recomend the install or just not pulling 5th wheel trailers?

Easy install. Will be a selling point I think. Lift might give you some problems pulling. Gives you the option. I'd install it.

Doesn't the B&W 5th wheel hitch just drop into the spot the ball normally sits?

Yes, it's a drop in. Flush otherwise

I thought so. I use the same hitch when I pull my dad's 5th wheel. Comes right out, it's not a permanent type of install like the bolt in plate type hitches are.

Also, are you talking 5th wheel or goose neck hitch? The hitch itself sits flush. The 5th wheel "companion" just pops in.

The 5th wheel is an attachment to the ball.

You can't go wrong installing that B&W. It does not take away from using the bed of the truck at all and will increase the value of the truck.

Hey shaef, I just read that you also have Firestone airbags. But you list onboard air as well. I have the onboard compressor for the bags, but not other air. Is your onboard air also used for your bags? Looking for all the info you can give as I want to have useable unboard air.

Sorry that might be a little misleading as i just have the air compressor for the air bags, but I have been trying to think of a logical way to actually have an onboard air compressor capable of airing up a tire in a few minutes, and not take up a whole bunch of room. Let me know if you come up with anything! I will be glad to do some brain storming!
