5th wheel with 315's

Here's the deal. My 315's are about gone so it is time for tires. I have a 30' 5th wheel that I haven't used since switching to the 315's but we are planning on using it alot this year. I did pull it with 12.50x33's before and had no problems with clearance. I would like to stay with 315's but don't know if I will have enough clearance between the camper and bed. Anyone towing 5'er's with 315's? The tires I am going with are Firestone Destination MT 315/70R17 load range E if they will work if not then the same tire in 285's. Power is not a concern since the 5'er is an ultra light. My only concern is clearance. I know I can adjust the coupler on the camper up for more clearance but I would rather not since that would make it ride too high in the front. Opinions and or pictures appreciated.

The problem is not the load it is raising the truck with the taller tires and causing clearance issues between the bed and camper.

if the axles are not fliped that may be a option but moves the center of gravity up high. the genral height from bed rail to rig is 6" to 8" and seen it lower and it turned out bad guy needed a lot of body work truck and rig.
i would look into fliping the axles that will help.

If you're goign to be using it a lot, as you said, I would step down to the smaller tire. I love my 315's too, but if my truck worked (towed) on a regular basis, I would go down a tire size. A little less rolling resistance, a little less potential for sidewall flex and a few more RPM at cruisng speed to keep the engine in the sweet spot all ads up to a better towing experience, IMO.

I tow a 32 foot fiver and with my 315's so far have had zero problems. Have towed on some fairly uneven roads too. I did have to raise the fiver hitch to it's highest position to get the fiver to ride level.

Thanks for all the replys. The 285 and 315 were on national backorder. My dealer was able to find one set of 315 at another store so he has them coming. I should have them in a few days. Guess I will have to make them work.

I tow with 315s, but my 5ver already had the axles flipped when I bought it. I have 6" of clearance between the bed and the trailer.
