4wd or 2wd TV?
well i have had 4x4 all my life in new england. we moved south 5 years ago and i have used it almost as much. pulling other people out mostly. we bought another truck last year and when i asked should we get 4 wheel drive the answer was better safe than sorry. better to have and not need than not have at all. i still own both trucks in sig
I've never owned a 2wd truck and don't think I ever will. I travel Lake Tahoe and Norther Nevada to see my folks. In the winter you can't get a 2wd anything out of my Moms house in Tahoe unless you have chains.
When I read the signs that say Chains required or 4wd with snow tires ok the extra cost of the 4x pays for its self. I've hung enough chains in my life that I don't miss not doing that.
Running down the road in ice and snow I slow down to a safe speed and run in 4wd it's a much more relaxing drive. Yes I know you don't stop better in 4wd.
I have to say that my CTD's are worst of the worst of trucks I've owned at getting stuck. Without a load you have zero traction in 2wd.
It's your money spend it on what works for you.
