Cool 3500 Quad Cab 4x4 Dually & 5'er Clearance

Just bought my new (to me) '04 Dodge 3500 4x4 Dually. It definitely sits a lot higher than my last tow vehicle ('92 F350 CC Dually 2wd). My Jayco has the "Jay plates" to adjust the axles. It is now on the 2nd lowest setting of 4. I am going to move it to the highest setting. Anyone else towing a Jayco 5th wheel with the Jay plate and a 4x4 3500? How is your bed rail clearance? At the current setting, I can't even pull my 5th wheel out of the driveway without hitting the back of my box under the 5th wheel!
Thanks.
Jeff

I had to buy the kit to flip the axle and that gave me about 8". I still came down on the bed rail on my steep driveway. I have about a 2" crease on the drivers side!

Can't you drop the coupler down 2-3" to pick up some clearance?

Well, on Wednesday I am moving the Jay plate to the lowest (highest height) and I can still go up 1 more setting on my B&W Companion. Hopefully that is enough. If it is close but questionable, I'll look into removing the 2 shims between the springs and rear axle on the truck. I guess that gains about another 1 1/2". The truck really looks aggressive, but it definitely sits way up in the rear!
Firemanram, where did you buy the kit to flip your axles? Was it very costly?
Thanks.

Raised my trailer to the highest setting on Jay plate. I now have maybe 5"-6" clearance. I think that rather than flipping the axles, I am going to pull the shims on the rear of my truck. It is supposed to lower it about 1 1/2". The truck will still sit a little rear high.

If you remove the shims to lower the truck, I would suggest that you place the shims at the top of the spring pack this allows you to reuse all the factory u bolts etc and keeps the shims just in case you decide to return the truck back to stock

i removed the shim on my 05 for the same reason

i removed two of them, i lowered the rear of my truck about two inches doing this

helped alot

i was able to reuse the factory u bolts without restacking the shims on top

double check the torque spec for your u bolts with your dealer services department
