1993 Brake controller wiring?

The new RV I bought has trailer brakes and my truck isn't wired for it. I have a 4 way flat connector in the back. I know I need to go buy a brake controller (heard good things about the Prodigy brand). So how do I wire this thing in? My 03 was easy since there was a plug end from the factory you just plugged into. Do I need that 7 or 6 way plug for the back of the truck? HELP

You will need a 7 way at the rear of the truck forthe trailer. You will then have to hard wire the brake controller as there is no plug from the factory like the 03's. Still pretty simple once you have the controller in hand.

Your probably better off doing your own anyhow IMHO. You will need to run a 10/12 guage to the battery + with a circut breaker. A 10/12 guage to the battery -, not frame. Both those will go to the controller. The other 2 from the controller will go to the brake light power out and the other to the line out to the rear. You`ll end up running a good 10/12 guage out back to the plug for the brake power to trailer. Its pretty easy just follow the destructions, I mean instructions.

ditto on above for brake and battery wiring. On my 92 I used a hoppy converter for the trailer lights,(brake, tail, marker and backup). I don't know how many tail and marker your rv has but this converter takes the trailer light load off the light switch which are not that spiffy on our trucks.

Thanks guys. I'm going to go buy this thing and some wire/connectors this weekend. Looks like I'll be picking up the trailer Feb. 18th. This shouldn' t be too difficult I guess
