Search Word Limit

I really think the word limit should be decreased to 3 words instead of 4 for the search feature on this forum. It's really hard to run searches with a minimum of 4 words and often you have to make new threads asking questions that have been asked before simply because old threads can't be found due to this. Words such as oil, egt, etc. are common key search words. Also, if possible lets try to decrease the search time limit to at least 30 seconds between searches instead of 60 seconds.

Just a couple of ideas I think would make this forum much more popular.

There's a reason for the 60 second limit, due to server restraints, but I'm with ya on the search word limit. I think it should be 3 also.

If you're referring to 4 letter limit on searches, try to add a * at the beginning or end ( example 0il* ).
It acts as a Wild Card allowing the search.

As for the time limit, we can all thank those individuals with too much time on their hands who stage "Denial Of Service" attacks on websites for making that time limit necessary.

A three character search limit is horrendously inconvenient. Especially considering the following:
AFE
DTT
AIR
OIL
K&N
KIT
More three-letter "diesel community" acronyms than can be imagined.
ETC., ETC.

PLUS !!!! - when your search fails ( because of minimum length ) you cannot modify your search to comply with the three-letter minimum, without waiting 60 seconds.

PLEASE - help us out here. I know of no other site with these constraints.

We are the fastest growing diesel site out there, and have been for a long time.

Sorry, until we have a new server, we live with this. Help me help you out, and donate

wiseguy.

Jeeeezzzz . . . I drilled all over this site, and finally into the High-Performance store before I found a place to donate. Guess I've seen that so many times, I just blanked it out.
