Requiring Locations?

This is not a 'Biggie', but I see a trend for members not listing their location! I don't care about street name and town/city... but shouldn't we at least get a state.

With too much anonimity already a problem on the internet, I see a plus to at least requiring a general location for all. Could keep things more honest, and certainly is friendlier

i agree! plus, if their close, they could come to my shop and i could help them either wire guages, plumb a fuel pressure guage, try out my smarty, etc. etc. and im sure this is the same way with others on the board too. just a thought..

I like it, but if made "mandatory", some people would probably just lie if they didn't want their location known.

I put my location there because I wanted to. If it became a requirement, I'd be the first to be jumping up and down and saying no way. If folks want to list their location, great. If they don't, great. It's not something that should be required from anyone.

Requiring it could be a double edged sword. I agree, it would be benifical, and nice.

But it would make some mad, and possibly alianate a few.

Well, Texas allowed the other states to join up with US, back in the day...

.... and even though plenty of Americans aren't Texans, they're getting here as fast as they can!

I personally don't see why people wouldn't want to list where they are from......what's it gonna hurt??? I could give a hoot if people know the town that I live in.....cuz hopefully if they saw me driving by they'd know it was me and wave or something!!

All kidding aside, I like seeing where people are from .It is interesting to me. a few months back Jack broke it down to show where all the peeps are coming from. I thought that was cool.
