This may sound silly, but I can't find out how to post a for sale item in the for sale section. Could someone help me out?

Once you're in the Classified Section (you get there from the link on the main site logo up top of every page),
there should be a "place an ad" on the far right side, towards the top of the page.
If there isn't, then you have a cookie problem, or didn't click on "remember me" when you logged in.
Try logging out of the whole site, then logging back in, clicking the little remember me box.
