need computer help

I cant view the forums from my personal computer. Says I must have java scripts enabled. Problem is, I have them enabled! Unless I am missing something, I mean, I am pretty computer dumb.

If somebody could help me out I sure would appreciate it. I need to get my diesel "Fix"! Im using Vista if that matters.

Thanks
Josh

Go into your installed programs and remove everything that starts with Java or JRE.

Restart.

In the advanced tab of internet explorer, click on reset.

www.java.com and follow the prompts to install the latest greatest.

Return to dtr.com, enjoy.

Sounds like similuar problems I am having with the new FireFox 3. I'm sure it is some type of setting that is installed but so far not much luck. Try the above suggestions and if non of them work try another browser.

No luck still, I have no trouble with any other sites. Just this one. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the new Java, and checked and changed all settings, still not working.

I spoke to Larry about this as I am having almost the exact same problem with FireFox 3. Explorer works fine and Netscape also works fine, just the Java error with FF3. Larry had a few ideas but it did not result in a solution. I will have to add that I installed FireFox on a different computer and all worked fine so it is sonethign loaded on your system. If I ever figure it out will post what I found but so far no luck including uninstalling everything, FF, Java etc and then redownloaded and reinstalled and same problem.

OK, another bust. Loaded it on my AMD64 system in the camper and it would not load this site. Same Java error message. This was a clean install of FireFox3 so 2 out of 3 failures so far. Maybe it is something in FF3, Will keep on with my testing. as I get time. Oh, by the way, I did not load any extras or add-ins this load so that kinda eliminates that issue I guess.

OK, newest update. Just got a forced update to my FireFox and suddenly all is working OK. Can load and see all the site. Don't know what is different but their upload fixed it.

If you get paid by the hour, IE is a good choice...

I have had zero problems with FF3.

Couple of things to try,
1. make sure java activex is enabled -- tools -> manage addons -> enable/disable add ons - check all lists for java components and see that they are enabled.
2. If you are using IE7 -> delete temp files and cookies and all -> tools -> internet options -> browsing history -> delete all. IE6 pretty much the same.
3. PIA but try uninstalling IE7, reboot, do updates custom-- DO NOT TAKE IE7 update at this time. See if you can see the site with IE6, if yes try reinstalling IE7.
Just things for you to try.
