Have a newbe FAQ section.
I don't mean new to the board but new to owning a diesel. I did a lot of searching and reading to find out that I need to use a fuel additive and that I needed to cool down the turbo after driving the truck. I now wonder is there other things that I need to knwo but don't know.and don't even know to ask. There are plenty of knowledgeable guys here on this site so it wouldn't take long to make such an area.
Do you have an owners manual?
Much of the beginners questions can be answered by thumbing through the owners manual.
For the rest, read through the forums, theres a lot of good info.
Also, when you come across terms you dont know, browse throught the FAQ section here on DTR.

Actually no one has been bad in any way about answering any questions. But I still don't know if I'm missing anything because of not having any experiance and not knowing what to ask.

Of course ask away that is what this site is for

But seriously, if you have a question about any little thing that pops into your mind, ask it. When I first started I had absolutely no idea that a diesel could do 600+hp and still be driven daily. Now I'm well on my way to it. I've asked a lot of stupid questions over the years and the people here have been great in helping me out. Just because I have the most posts doesn't mean I know everything. I'm still learning and asking questions just like you and I've been around here for over 4 years. So whenever you have a question, please ask it. It can only benefit you and any other's that might have the same question but are to scared to ask it. Welcome aboard.

But, like I said, you manual may indeed be different.
Also, one thing you may wish to check out is this sites search feature.
Doing a search for things such as "Fuel Additives" will result you with hours of reading.
Another thing you may want to search of are threads relating to your truck year and initially focus your reading on the forums related to your generation truck.
And as mentioned, never be afraid to ask, just as you have done here.
There are truck loads of good folks who carry a lifetime of combined experience on these boards.

what would be cool is like a sticky thread at the top of the 1st and 2nd gen perf section that tells which guages to get, what they do, what the different symptoms could mean, all that good stuff. What all the abbrevations stand for, all the 12v stuff (gsk, delivery valves, star wheels, etc.) That would answer a lot of questions i think
