Is there a way to permanently unsubscribe to threads so I don't get e-mails notifying me of new posts???

Click on UserCP (Link is upper left corner of the page). Click the "List Subscriptions" link on the left side of the page. Check the thread you wish to unsubscribe, then on the drop down box (Selected Threads) at the lower right corner of the screen, select "Delete Subscription" then click "Go".

 

Yep, I've used that trick to unsubscribe........

I was just wondering if there is a setting so that I NEVER subscribe?? some sort of prefference list or something.

I sometimes reply to posts but forget to to uncheck the e-mail notification thing and after a bunch of other people reply I get tonnes of e-mails that I don't really need.

(I'd rather just go check DTR to see if anyone replied)

 

I would think by default you would not be subscribed to a thread that you respond to. I've only had one subscribed thread here on DTR, and I had to subscribe to that thread manually.

Edit -- Found it. Go to your UserCP. Then select Edit Options. You'll find the subscription option there.
