Banned members?

Seems like every time I do a search a run across a few posts by a "banned member" what exactly do you have to do to get banned from an internet forum? just curious.

Just don't follow the rules that you agreed to when you signed up to this free web site.

Your assumption could be correct. Send the IP to Lary Ellis with an explanation of the problem and let him look. Jack is in the middle of some important work right now and is short on time.

NW, you can also post that kind of stuff in a new thread in this section.

Banned members... good explaination, Dave.

I'm not ban happy, but there are certain rules here. I'm all about giving someone a second chance unless they go off the deep end on some one and get really crazy.

One thing I don't understand... (me) Dear member ______, Please don't do this action, it is in violation of our site rules. The rules can be found here (url). Thanks. If there is anything I can do for you, let me know. -madhat

(other member) You're a sorry #%^(*&^%#$%^(*& and I'll do what I want you #%^&*O)&^%$#$^%(*^%#$%^&(*&^%@#$%^.

I don't even reply. They just get the madhammer.

On that note, there is a lot that goes on behind the DTR curtains... more than meets the eye. However, I have seen members that have gotten banned, I mean GOOD and banned, and then came back to one of us, apologized, and got back on. Not as rare as you think.

Anyhow... that's my 2 cents.

I would like to thank the admins for their hard work in keeping this site clean and family oriented. It is far more pleasurable to read the rants of someone you don't necessarily agree with (especially in the politics section) if they are not swearing every other word. Keeps me coming back to this site rather than others.

You are welcome and you bring up a good point I would like to touch base on.

It is OK to disagree with a fellow members political "rants", that is the whole idea behind the Political Forum. By keeping the insults to a minimum it doesn't have to be a "Personal" thing and at the end of the day we can still all be friends

Politics and Religion both bring out volatile reactions from people and we don't want it to take away from the over all brotherhood and family atmosphere. I know that I personally think a few of our members have gone completely off the deep end, but if they break down in my neck of the woods tomorrow, I am still there to assist if I can

I agree. I can think of one other site I browsed through for less than ten minutes before realizing they were just a bunch of punks that didn't deserve my time.
I can honestly say I waste more time here than anywhere else.

Good site here.

I've been a member of more than one forum that went away because of all the "behind the scenes" work that has to be done. Not an easy job.

Thanks y'all.

We appreciate all the comments.

If it were not for the members, we would not have a great site. Thanks!

This is a fairly "simple" forum. However that may not be the right choice in words, sorry to any of the Admin if I offended you! Let me back up my words, I like to think ALL of us here at DTR are a very large "team". 99% of us on this "team DTR", have a passion of diesel powered truck, mostly Cummins.
We come from all over the world to support each other rather it is in Prayer for lost/troubled loved ones, simple suggestions on our truck, or more involved technical questions and information. We are all "adults" and have been given "simple" set of rules to follow. The Admin is not asking anyone for thousands of dollars nor are they asking of any work to be a valid member here other than to be respectful, and keep it "G" rated..
I have plenty of respect for Lary (TOP), Madhat, Totallyrad, and any other Admin, or respectful member of this!
It takes a lot of work to keep a clean, organized, informational forum running.
I have saved PLENTY of money by coming here and getting a few "tips" on how to repair my truck fast and efficiently, and I have the right to be a member here, until I "Screw up" and don't follow the rules.
If you don't agree on what someone has to say here in the forums/chat rooms, I dont think the Admin minds if we have RESPECTFUL arguments on our different views. However there is no need to call someone every bad name under the sun, I save that for the garage!

Just my $0.02..

Once again THANK YOU to all who help make DTR possible!
