colum shift hard to get in park

When I slide my colum shift up into park the LED circle around the R for reverse disappears but doesn't appear around the P for park. These shifters are weird as they don't just go left to right you kind of have to push it up toward the windshield as well. If I jiggle it it goes into park ok but it's getting old. Got back from a four hr drive from NV and next morning it wouldn,t start. I figured I'd left the interior lights on. Boy did I feel foolish when the AAA guy jiggled the colum shift and it started right up. Wasn't in park all the way. Anyone else bothered by this or do I just need to adjust some linkage?

Sometimes i have troubles getting it out of park if i pull the shifter the wrong angle.

Never had troubles getting it into park.

Ask the dealer?

Sounds like a trip tho the dealer will fix that. All it needs is adjustment. Maybe they'll have to replace the whole truck

Mine does the same thing, I have to wiggle it to get it to show "PARK". I intend to have the dealer look at it first chance, at 3K right now and haven't been able to get back to dealer yet.

We had the same problem, couldnt get it out of park... get your dealer to replace the shift interlock cable.
Also, there is a thread in the General Diesel Discussion Forum you should take a look at. Has to do with trucks that don't go into Park. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...threadid=50173
