Commander Update v1.4
Hey Quad, got my new sending unit and installed it and updated. No problem with update, however I am one of member who can't see as well as used to and would like bigger numbers too. I appreciate you saying you will make it an option. I love my Commander, and even though my FP just now works, I always recommeded it with good faith, because I knew you would take care of it. Thanks for your good work ethic and integrity, it does not go unnoticed, and is really appreciated.
I just bought the commander and I think it was a big mistake. 1st I can't get my FP to work. I have the GDP big line kit, so my FP doesn't get grounded into the CP3. I have it grounded via a wire under the fiber washer. I still can't get the FP to read anything. Also, the boost will only go to 32. I have yet to received a call back from techs. I have a silver 62 and I know the boost goes higher than that. I have it tapped into the boost fooler pin D closest to the engine.... If I can't get this resolved soon, it's going back. Should have kept my analog guages...
My computer would also not locate the commander when I tried to update....

Well I just tried a new usb cable and that didn't allow the update program/computer to find my commander either.
Looks like i'm going to be stuck waiting for quad tech support to call me back...............
This situation really really stinks since everything about the setup is working great, but this stupid update isn't working and isn't going to let me do the fuel pressure untill it does.
It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't such a chore to take the commander out of the truck. What would really help is if there was a big flat pin connector on the back of the commander and the wiring harness plugged in that way so you could take the commander out without having to take its wire with it. (Hint Hint Hint Quad???)
My frustration is quickly reaching an anger level.
Very very very very very very frustrated....

Second, if you want to speak to someone live call the 888 number, and tell them you want to hold and that they need to get to someone ASAP. I promise they will get you someone.
First things first. If you just grounded the sensor under the fiber washer you have to make 100% certain that the ring terminal never touches the post it or it basically grounds the post as well and the reading will be 0.
Lets fix one thing at a time. Get the fuel pressure working and then we will work on the bosot reading. I can tell you that it is not going to ever read 50psi unless you use the analog adapter which will go to 100psi.

Now did you read the instruction, all of them? Do you have the .net framework installed on your PC or laptop? If not you need to go download v2.0 or higher of the .net framework to get it to work. It mentions this right above the update on the page.
Second, after you run the program it will say DO NOT connect the Commander. After that it installs the drivers and then Windows should have a pop up come up and ask you to install the drivers. You need to select Yes, this time only. Once that is done then the update works very easy.
I would very seriously doubt you will ever see a connector on the back of the Commander. A 15 pin connector takes up a lot of room and then Commander would have t be considerably thicker to house any sort of licking connector.
Have you talked to tech support? Before your frustration reaches and anger level you should probably check those couple of things and then try and update it.
See, if you can get the owner of a company to respond to you on a message board, I think you will be able to get ahold of tech support. I have called them at least 10 times before asking stupid questions, and NEVER had any problems getting ahold of someone or getting a call back. They usually call me back with everything ready, plus If I need something they usually give it to me at no cost or at a reduced cost!
Darn good company if you ask me!
Try calling between normal working hrs, not lunch time!

Quad.... I have reached some of your techs, and they are working it... I was just frustrated after dropping some big $$ for the system, then to have so many problems.
I have carefully made sure that the ground ring is not touching the bolt at all. I have adjusted it many many times just to make sure... I have even tried putting a hose clamp around the housing and grounding it to the battery and the engine.... still read zero. I bought another guage and wired it to the sender... that guage read zero.... I contacted tech support and they are sending another sender.
Where do I get the analog adapter for the boost?..... the quad techs are working out why my max boost is only at 32 psi? (reading)... I know its boosting way over it though cause I haven't lost any power...
I posted here last night because I had my truck torn apart and needed help... I got great service today.. Thanks Quad

I installed the commander on Thursday night. Not Happy The screen sometimes comes in distorted. Twice the screen has no info completely blank but there is power and also froze on me. Tried the update no go even with tech support on phone. So on friday I sent it out to them to take a look at it. Let's see what happens.

Still working on it.
Just a quick update.
I had to work quite a bit since my previous posts, and just today got to get back to work on figuring out why my computer won't see the commander. So, my appologies for coming off as being po'd at quads product cause that wasn't my intention.... no let the beatings commence
As I said in the post, I am very pleased with the commader and the other products I got from his company. I was having one of those day where the computer was becoming an enemy, if you know what I mean.
Anyways, Quads people are working on it right now and I will let everyone know what the issue was with my commander, computer or both is as soon as it gets ironed out.
I'm going to try one or two other things in the mean time until they call me back.
