Commander Update v1.4
So I did the commander update last night and well I wish I hadn't. Am I the the only one who thinks this, or is the new font much smaller and harder to read, especially at a glance. Quad, I am guessing you were going for a less pixely look, which you have achieved, but at the cost of readability in my opinion. I would prefer the larger numbers like before. Also the 0 with the slash through it when the numbers are that small makes it look like an 8 especially with the faster update speed(which I do like).
The other thing that I noticed this morning on my way into work is that my rail pressure under WOT sticks on 23894, anyone else getting this?
I would prefer the faster update speed with the old font. Is that feasible Quad? Maybe it will grow on me, but I have great eye sight and at a glance it is very hard to distinguish the readings.
Anyone else?

I do like the update but don't like the new smaller font size. I have to wear glasses to read anything up close. I cannot wear the glasses and see down the raod to drive so I am kind of between a rock and a hard place. I could barely see the old fonts when it is dark but the new ones I really can't read at all. Other than that one problem I think the new update is fine.
I tired to do the update, but the program keeps saying that "Commander can not be found", or "No commander found". I think something didn't work right when everything downloaded onto the computer, and attempts to do it a second time yeilded the same results.

We are probably going to have 2 download options for font size. Some love the new way as it has more resolution and a few others like you don't.
The small fonts in the menu are meant to make space.
Lets see what happens as we roll along.
In the meantime if you need the older fonts or an older version let me know and I can email it to you.

I don' t mind the smaller font in the menu area, I just don't like it when it is displaying all the readings. Also am I the only one getting the Fuel pressure sticking? or is that normal Quad? If I could get the faster update and all that jazz with just the old font I would be happy.
Hi Quad,
The new fonts in the operational display (4up) are a little smaller, but have much better smoothing. I do have the feeling that the smaller fonts are harder to read, but having a choice in the operational display would allow each person to pick what they like best.
I'd keep the small fonts in the setup screens, because the programming required to customize those areas would be much harder. Great job on the update!

No one else is getting the Rail Pressure sticking, under full throttle mine either sticks on 23894 or 24021, doesn't move, doesn't go higher, only lowers when off the throttle.
I know that number is not the true number, whats the deal?

I still can't get my computer to see the commander, keep getting the "Commander not Found" message.
Still waiting for Tech Support to call me back, I realized that I called in the middle of lunch time in Texas...
Does anyone know how to get this download to work correctly???? I can't put in my fuel pressure kit until its updated to the the new software. Getting sooooo frustrated.

You can't run the new updated 0-40psi fuel pressure kit on the commader until you update the commander to the latest software version.
If you hook it up it won't read it right or something to that extent. Might not even reconize it, not quite sure.
I could just put everything in on the motor and leave it disconnected for now, but I don't quite know what would happen if the wiring was hooked up to the motor and not to the commander.

You can hook it up to the motor and leave it disconnected no problem, I didn't know you had the new sender. I thought those were still a little way out.
Have you downloaded the file for the update?
Then started to run it?
Then when it asks to plug in the commander it doesn't recognize it?
Try a different cable if you have one, there's nothing special about the one from Quadzilla. Wiggle it a little maybe.

Still No go.
I don't have another cable with the same end as found on the commander. Plus the unit lights up when I plug it in and the EGT shows up and scales through to 1823 degrees and blinks so I "think" the cable is alright.
I got the updated fuel pressure sending kit yesterday, and they had gotten them in at quads place only a couple days ago, so I think they are starting to roll in.
Still waiting on a call back from tech support.
Thanks the help yellow,
Mike

No prob, not that I did much.
Mine did the same thing the first time, but the second time it worked, I just moved the cable around a little bit.
Hope you get it figured out.
Once you do, post about your rail pressure, I"m sure I can't be the only one havin the issue
