I think the FASS is a well designed unit, and I personally feel air seperation is, at least in theory, a good idea. I like the spin-on filter. If you think it's overpriced, you'll feel less so when you actually hold the thing in your hands. Over-engineered for our trucks is more accurate.

I don't like it's vulnerability mounted where it is on my truck, and I'm having to spend time and $ to address this.

If you are thinking that it's a ton of money but that it's worth it because it will outlast your truck and will never fail, I think you buying into the hype a bit. If you have the money to spend and want something likely much better than the factory system, I think it's a smart buy.

My brother [xgasser] & I have been running a FASS for 2 years. I have tried Holley & Mallory pumps they did not last pushing diesel.did good in my race cars on gas.I have spent a lot more on the other pumps than what the FASS cost.

I would probably buy the new pump that FASS has now, and use the current fuel filter set-up that came with your truck.
I have the FASS system for over a year now and have had no problems with it and always have a contant fuel pressure of 14 . No complaints here about it.
