You are a bad influence
Well you are, like it or not and I am happy about it.
Having sold my 04 dakota a month ago i have been on the hunt for Cummins powered Dodge.
I didn't have any particular body style or year in mind. Just needed to be in good shape and drive nice.
Checked out at least 6 of them from a 90 to a 99.
Ended up with the 99. Its a Club cab 4x4 Laramie. Came equipped with a 4 inch complete stainless exhaust system an extra deep trans pan and an Edge box. Has the display for temps and pressures. I have been keeping a close eye on the fuel pressure.
So far I have been very happy with the performance of the truck.
There is no comparison to the v8 dakota.
The Wife ( ford lover ) was even impressed when we hauled our little dozer ( 4 ton) on a trailer to our cottage.
Fuel mileage is impressive to say the least.
I took it to a front end shop to have an allignment done, previous owner had replaced all balljoints and trackbar. All I had to do was put on a set of swaybar links.
So far I have only run the box in number 1 mode.
I am not sure what to expect in any higher modes.
Fuel pressure has remained above 8 even when pulling the dozer uphill.
When i am not into the fuel pedal it runs from 12 to 15.
I suspect someone has modded the engine a bit as even in no 1 this truck will leave small tail gaiting cars the dust.
So thanks to you fine folks I have a truck that I am happy with.
Regards Chris
