Well, i better keep under the hood not to far from stock, or the rest of my tranny will hate me.lol I plan on maybe 215 injectors, and MAYBE some 181 delivery valves if EGT's allow, but im not in to big of a hurry. I have the injectors, so those will go in not long after the converter.I will just be happy to be getting what i have to the ground.

Joefarmer: Thanks, ill do that, but how do you get the crossmember back in, and do you guys pull the transfer case, or lower the tranny/transfer case as a whole? I have 2 floor jacks, so i could do it i think. I hate to unbolt the T-Case, but if i have to, then i have to i guess.lol

Thanks guys!

Eric

Yep! For your first time you'll want to separate them since it's incredibly un-nimble together. Typically you can pull it connected and install it separated. It's just 6 nuts to separate them- don't allow it to hang down or it will make the trans seal egg shaped. To get the cross member back in, just reverse the process; elevate it by about an inch and slide/drive it forward into place. Remember to WATCH the transmission cooler lines that run below the bellhousing and WATCH the fuel lines that are ~1" above the top of the crossmember. Did I mention to WATCH the fuel and transmission lines?

Well. Buddy got his torque converter in today, and took me for a ride. He has an 01 with an EZ, and 80hp injectors. Its sweet! Truck drops 500rpm's or so on the shifts at WOT, and at WOT, the converter only drops about 100-200rpm's when it locks up. I cant wait to get mine in. Should at least be in by the end of next weekend. I cant wait. its gfonna be so much better that i probably wont be using my lockup switch anymore jhust because its so efficient anyway. I can only imagine how its gonna pull with this converter in there.

So what all is ther that i have to pull out to get the tranny, and all out?
I know these:
-vacuum lines to transfer case
-transfer case linkage
-transmission lines
-connectors on tranny
-Kickdown cable(how do you remove that without messing up the position?)
-gear selector rod
-frnt/rear driveshafts
-crossmember/skid plate

What am i forgetting? Thanks!

Eric
You'll understand what I mean when you get under there... the bracket unbolts instead of removing the TV cable from the bracket. Besides, you'll want to adjust it properly anyway when you're finished.
