well i went with the xzt+ because of the adjusting on the fly and the box can be mounted on the inside does this box have a boost fooler? also since quad has not updated any tuning files for it since 08 whats the best one because once i update it i will leave it or just run the one it comes with? after reading i decided not to do the superchip tuner and saved 50 bucks from the DTR store it will be nice to have my truck back since the death of the vann aaken

 

Yes it does have a boost fooler. I run a 3000 beta tune and couldn't be happier. I haven't changed mine in 2 years so I'm probably not the best one to ask about which is the best tune but I like mine.

Were do I find the 3000 beta? Its not on the web sight?

 

Quad sent it to me during his beta testing. I just looked on my computer for it but couldn't find it. I'll check the laptop & if I find it I'll send it to you.

Awesome! What does the 3k have? Cold motor protection high Idle ???

 

Sorry I couldn't find it, I guess it got "mysteriously" erased by my wife. But yes, it has high idle & fuels hard in performance mode. I rarely play with it anymore...mainly use it for the high idle and passing. It's too aggressive to use for towing. Give Quad a call and ask for it. I bet he'll hook you up!

Well that's all I will be doing is towing,maybe just use what it comes with and run it in towing and kick it up on hills n passing.

 

I have been running XZT+Beta1 for two years now works great I tried them all at first but was getting surging so I emailed Jeremy at Quad. He said try the Beta1 which worked great, haven't bothered changing after that day I loaded it. I keep it on timing setting all the time and put it on for towing 10,000 lbs trailer. The truck is a dog without it. I usually only put it on 60 hp when I hit 3rd and torque converted is locked and use it also in OD lock up also. When I am driving in 1st and 2nd I switch it back to just timing and pull the trailer seems easier on transmission. Haven't slipped the converter yet but I am going to upgrade that soon. The truck EGT's never go over 1100 towing on the big hills and I am stock exhaust and a drop in filter AFE. The Beta1 also has truck warm up which I use all the time in one min or less it runs the truck up to 1200 rpm. I am really happy with the XZT put it on load this tune and forget it run to you want something with more HP. I have the Beta1 tune I can email you if you need it.
