Will These Tires Fit On My Factory Wheels?

I had a wreck last week and wound up losing a tire and wheel, so I'm in the process of replacing both. The tires that are currently on the truck are BFG Land Terrain LT245/75 R16 (Load Range E). I now have a set of four Goodyear Wrangler LT235/85 R16 (Load Range E) directionals that I'm wanting to put on the factory wheels. Will they fit?

I'm excited about these tires because the BFGs that are currently on the truck look tiny and according to the chart at http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...k/truksize.jsp, these new tires should be about an inch taller. Doesn't sound like much, but I have a 265/75 R16 spare on there right now that looks pretty great and that chart says it's the same height as the 245/75 R16s I'm going to. Does this all sound right? Oh, and will the tires fit on the wheels? Thanks!

Yup,

they are tall and aweful skinny though, 255/85/16 by BFG is a real nice size, I have also seen on photos 305/85/16's some coyote brand tire.. but those are wayy huge... I run 285's myself, might upgrade to 305's though, the largest size on stock rims would probly be 265/75/16

I think you can run 315s on stock wheels if you have a front end leveling kit (which I do).

The largest I have seen on a stock ram at my dealership were 305's with a tiny amnt of rubbing in sharp corners when i drove it and u can fit the 315's with the leveling kit...The size that comes on most of the stock trucks is a 265/75/16 and 285's are and after purchase option that will easily fit.

The next set of tires that I buy will be 315s (I didn't buy these...we already had them in storage). Then I'll get a lift kit. In the end, I'll have similar to what BigBlue has, but with the factory wheels. That'll be a while though.

I'm not talking about running 285s. Not now or in the future. I'm talking about running 235/85R16s now and 315s in the future.

My truck currently has 235/85-16's. The previous owner had them put on about 4000 miles before I bought the truck. They're really ugly if you ask me. Too narrow. I like the OD, so my next set of tires will be 265/75-16's. Same OD, but wider tread. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, they're narrow suckers, but the height is what matters the most to me.

So, you want 31 inches and narrow as opposed to 31 inches and slightly wider?

What about 305's on 16x7.5 wheels?I have 285's on now,but wondered if the 305's will look good or be to wide.I think they are the same height, roughly 33in.I don't want it to look like you crammed them on a wheel that is too small. What do ya'll think?

No, current tires are 30.5". New tires will be 31.5". Gaining an inch. Trust me, it looks like more (not sure why). I'm going to this "new" set because I lost one of the "old" tires and we already had this "new" set at my house. So it's pretty much free. Otherwise, I'd be going up to 315s if I was dishing out the $800 or so.
