why does trans fluid heat up in reverse ?

why does trans fluid heat up in reverse ?
is it because the cooler isn't getting wind or are there other issues ?

It's because of no airflow from forward motion and the way most people use reverse, non continuous with the clutches slipping rather than just straight cruising.
