Every body says the comp will smoke your stock clutch, not always the case. I run a Drag Comp and mach 1.75's and it still holds. And I tow with it on 1x1 for timing. So that is 95 horse injectors (probally more like 105 on a H.O.) towing with no problem. And when the comp is cranked I just don't really dog on it because I think it would eventually slip. But it's working so far!

what does tapped wire mean??????

more or less power?!

ive understood from this that its the wire that goes to the injector pump. does it have to be connected or disconnectod for more power??????

I have had my Comp for awhile with the stock clutch and tow frequently in the summer......I have had no problems with the stock clutch and a tapped Comp. Even when I added RV275's with the Comp, the stock clutch STILL won't slip......I have no idea why but my truck pulls hard, runs strong and tows heavy with these fueling mods and the stock clutch continues to work fine. For some reason, it seems to be the 6 spd guys that report more problems with the stock clutch and the Comp.

Yeah it won’t go past 19-20 psi floored. I think I will just pay off the credit card first for the "just in case scenario" if I blow the Ip or the trans. If it is both I will be in some trouble . Though a part of me really wants to buy it right now. I could just run it untapped like so many others . I still think it wise to pay off my debt first. Thanks for the good info guys.

Picture borrowed from DieselDude4X4's gallery.

This is why you need to keep an eye on your EGTs when running a Fueling Box.

Anything over 1300* sustained for a period of time. You can take quick short bursts into the 1600* range but not for more than 10-15 seconds. Hold 1600* for a minute or two and you'll probably be pulling your aluminum pistons out of your oil pan.

I have a stock auto trans with an untapped comp and I have had no problems. I have run with just a comp for about 6 months now, I think, and it has been a great addition. Just the box alone really livened the truck up. I am still under warranty so I am not going to do anything else for another 20k miles, but then let the BOMBing begin.

And that's EMPTY!
I have seen a #6 piston like the pic above (off an HO with Comp Box & 100hp injectors) that ate itself towing 14,000 lbs, on level ground at 65 mph. Owner felt safe holding just over 1200*! After about 2 hr, the engine died.
