I've had both Bilsteins and Rancho 9000's.
The Bilsteins were on my Jeep and I found them to be excellent shocks. They are velocity sensitive so the harder you drive the harder they get, and they really keep the wheels in contact with the rough ground. But remember, they were on a vehicle that did not get loaded heavily. It was just driven in different conditions.
Now I have a set of 9000's on my Dakota. They can be set for very soft or very hard or anywhere in between. Great for heavy loads on the road or just cruising around town. They are also able to keep the wheels in contact better than the original shocks.
So, it depends on your driving style and use pattern. The Bilsteins are more sophisticated in their adaptability to road conditions but the 9000's are better for heavy pickups with varying loads. The 9000's give you the choice of settings. My next set will be 9000's for my new Ram.

 

I'm using the RS9000X shocks also and have no complaints. The grommets squeaked a little when first installed, but everthing was the correct size. I've got the fronts set on 4 and the rears on 3 to keep the 315s on the ground without cupping.

I also purchased the dual channel controller, but have not installed it yet. I am disappointed in it's operation. You are required to bring both pairs of shocks upto the same pressure, then bleed off the pair you will want at a lower setting, A pneumatic selector valve will have to be added to the system to avoid this. Pneumatic hoses attach at the bottom of the shock instead of the top so they travel with the axle instead of staying stationary with the frame. OH, and the gauge faces are white and don't match the rest of my gauges.
