Where to start?

I just bought a 2001 3/4 ton quad cab 4x4 with a 5 spd tranny, the engine is bone stock, I am planning on starting with an exhuast, and a quadzilla. Should I start with one and add the other later or save my money and put both on at once? What size exhaust 4" or 5"?

yup it will fit, my boss has a full 5" system on his '06 4x4 DRW 3500 with lots o space left over and i personally like the sound of a 5" better, its a little....deeper i guess you could say, it would be nice if you could sit in trucks that have the different exhausts just to see what you like the sound of and what you can live with towing down the road...

Only buy 5" if you want tad bit more sound, or if you plan to go over 600 HP, 4" sounds great! Breathe's great!!, And Costs Less.

I run one. It's ok but there's likely better options out there. I have returned two of them for throwing codes. The 140hp box I have now caused a CEL on the 60 hp setting while towing two days ago.

FWIW- The stock exhaust will cool 400 hp +/- I would go with the fueling mods and gauges first.

Yes, but the bigger exhaust wakes up the motor and it will rev up noticeably faster. Also, you can get more air flow and lower egt's with your stock turbo if you open up your exhaust system. Without exhaust, any High Performance Fueling and Timing Box will get hot quick! I would recommend a Juice/Att if you don't yet have gauges.

If you had a 3" straight pipe before, and all that you did was filter and wastgate, and you already noticed 3mpg, I would say that you will not get much better economy wise, but you will spool turbo a little faster and run out of RPM's sooner. Untill you grind that fuel plate, you're not gonna benefit much going 3" to 4".
