Question Where to mount Brakesmart??

I just picked up a Brakesmart and looking to get it put in this weekend. The problem is, I can't seem to find a location to mount the controller that I like.

Anyone that has one, where did you mount yours? Pics would be great.

Thanks in advance.

No ideas?

Starting the install this morning. Guess I'll get the sender mounted and wires run and check back.

Manual or auto? On the auto, I mounted the controller just below the cup holder assembly (which I never use). and on the manual, I mounted it just below the cubby hole which is where the cup holder would be on an auto. No pics though. I thought it would be too far to reach the brake button as needed, but even in cases of panic stopping (and I have had a few unfortunately), I have not needed the stop button.

Thanks for the info. I actually had it all installed before I came in and looked back at this. I ended up using some rubber bushings to level it out and mounted it between the steering column and ashtray. I did think about the cubby hole, but I kind of wanted it closer so I could reach the buttons easier. I guess I'm just so used to using the panic button on my old timer controller. Glad to hear I probably won't need it now. Looking forward to trying it out. Heard a lot of good reviews on them.

Installation was a breeze. Took me longer to take the old controller out than put the new one in. Although that's only because I'm too dumb to figure out which way to push the tab on the electrical connector...

You are going to love that controller. I put a Maxbrake on my wife's '03 and it is absolutely amazingly smoooooth. Towing will never be the same.

This will be the first one I've ever used. I've towed with a lot of different controllers so far, but never a true proportional controller like this. I'm looking forward to not having to readjust it every time I hook on to a different trailer. I've been using a timer controller that was in the truck when I bought it. Been cussing it for a few years and finally decided to do something about it.
