Where do you tap the intake for boost 1st gen.

I still haven't seen the boost #'s I should be seeing w/ my set up (see sig.) 25psi is all I've seen. The intercooler and plumbing (turbo-Intake) has been presure tested to 20 psi. held there for 20 min. w/no drop in presure. Anyone have any suggestions. A rep. of "Bull Dog" told me the stock intercooler is to restictive to reap the benifits of the HX40/16 from PDR. ??? I know I've read where guys are seeing 30psi + w/the stock torbo w/ the 16cm housing.

I'm currently tapping off the center 1/8 NPT hole in the side of the intake, right under the intake hose from the intercooler.

That's where everybody taps it. What, if any, upgrades have you done to the fuel supply system (drilled out banjo bolts, bigger lines, etc.)? You may just be starved for fuel and can't spin that big 40 fast enough to make more boost.

Its not your 1st gen intercooler. I am running 50 psi through my intercooler with a smaller turbo than the HX40 right now.

Give me a call at PDR tommorrow and I will help you fine tune your setup.

Wannadiesel;
You probably hit on the head. You probably noticed nascarmark replied also. I'll get with him tomarrow and see what he has in mind. From what I've read he does know his stuff. To be honest at this point after installing Don's EDM's injectors I was trying the detune side, too much smoke for everyday driving! I plan on buying a Valett unit, but I thought I'd use a needle valve set up (to simmulate the valett mode) in my AFC line to see if I could reduce the smoke to a reasonable level It did seem to work. So I guess I now need to go to the full fuel mode and see if the boost #s are more in line with what I was expecting.
