What will stock '01 auto handle?
What will stock '01 auto handle?
What will a stock automatic '01 handle in terms of power? Looking at an '01 with 125k - I was wanting a stick but at this price it's going for, I'm tempted, even though it's an auto. Would adding a set of 275's and an EZ blow it up? I tried searching but couldn't find this info - sorry if it's been posted before!

An ez alone might be ok- ez w/ 275's = asking for trouble.
Really, it is hard to say. If the trans. has 125k on it and is original, you might be looking at a rebuild anyway..
Is the trans tight? Shift good? slip now?
If it feels tight, I would do the EZ over the injectors.

I think you should feel lucky it made it this far, start saving for it's repair cause it will becoming. The more power you try and get out of it, the sooner it will need attention.

I would just do the 275's. They are not as aggressive as the EZ. When the fueling comes on at low rpm's (with EZ) it murders the tc clutches.
The 275's are IMHO the way to go without the tranny upgrade. Phil

Go4lo:
I have an 01 auto (88k)that has had an ez on it for 75k. About 15k ago I added some 275's. So far trans is still working fine. However I do drive with the trans in mind don't race etc and 85% of the time run empty. These trans some seem to last others dont(ok most dont from what you read) I must say that I am waiting for mine to start slipping so that I can justify spending the coin on doing it up right but so far it just keeps going.
