I got a turbo orfice fitting for my truck for free and i went to hook it up and my turbo is different than the others i have seen. It has a SOLID steel tube directly attached to the wastegate and is like pressed fit in the side of the housing. All the other ones i have seen have the fitting on the front with a soft rubber hose attaching the fitting to the wastegate. any info is appreciated. thanks

 

sounds like a stock hy-35, the other turbo you are talking about sounds like a hx-35

 

Your truck profile is not filled out.
I will assume you have a 01 auto.
It is correct that it is a hy9 turbo.
the boost elbow is for the hx35 turbo's.
do a search on the turn buckle mod.

 

is it a hy-35 or a hy9? whats the difference between the hx-35 and the one that i have besides the boost elbow? any pros or cons? and how do u put the mods on your signature? thanks

 

Click on "user cp" at the top of each page. Then when in there click on edit signature, on the left. Fill it out and click "save signature".

 

It is HY35. The HY has a 9cm exhaust housing, the HX has a 12cm exhaust housing. The HY spools faster than the HX, but runs a little hotter because of the smaller exhaust housing. I believe the compressor side is the same on both of them.
