What mods should I do next?
What mods should I do next?
I have been thinking of some mods (see signature). I have an AFE Mega Cannon already, love the new sound. Would a 4" exhaust do anything now or should I get the Edge EZ first? The main thing I am looking for is fuel efficiency... ok a little more power too.
Re:What mods should I do next?
It depends on which way you plan on going. Are you planning on a full bomb in the future or will you be happy with a little increase and leave it at that. Here is my recommendation take it with a grain of salt.

If you plan to just do a little and leave it at that;
Get the EZ and have a look at exhaust it will sound way cool and also flow less restrictive.

If you plan to go further in the future.
Save your money and get a good tranny I hear Dtt makes a good one ;D then start the engine mods. I believe that this is the way I should have gone and many others will tell you the same.
Then get the TST box go for whatever box you want at first 1,2,3 keeping in mind all you need is a remote to unlock the next level keeping your BOMBING cost down in the future. With the TST I would recomment a set of stage 2 injectors and if you haven't seen the light yet a scotty 2! ;D Also if you haven't got that exhaust yet now's the time. Then its usually turbo time, along with a FP gauge and a set of high quality banjo bolts, and a pusher pump.

That pretty much sums it up depending on which way you choose to go.
Re:What mods should I do next?
If your looking for a little power that won't damage your tranny, an EZ with some 275 injectors woudl be nice. That seems to be the usual upgrade. If you plan on going for more later on down the road, get the comp and leave the pump wire unhooked. Acts just like an EZ until you hook up the wire. An exhaust will make your truck sound awesome (I suggest 4" straight pipe dumped ;D). A Scotty 2 would be pretty cool also and will help EGT's. Here in the next month or so, I'm probably going to be getting one.
Re:What mods should I do next?
I do agree the comp box works well like blue said but, the TST is a better box for going to the insane level because it makes much more power then advertised about 40 HP peak more then the edge. That in my opinion sells its self for the HP seeker.

Thanks guys, Jamie, I will prob just do a little. I wont get anymore serious than what I listed. Tranny stuff can get $$$. I just want a little more than all the stock guys and some better mileage. What would you do first, the EZ or the 4" exhaust? Also is the Scotty II really better than the AFE, and if so how?

Seriously, they allow better fuel flow because they have larger openings, therefore helping to protect the injection pump. As an added bonus, they are typically available with fittings to make installation of a fuel pressure gauge easier, as well.

Do the EZ the exhaust is a waste of money at this time in your mods. You can use it later down the road if you want the sound/look. You will love what the EZ does for you, it almost always puts 1-2 MPG better in your truck along with more H.P! As for the high flow banjo bolts if you don't have a FP gauge now is a good time to get one along with the Banjo bolts they increase the fuel pressure/flow to your VP44 Injection pump creating less possibility of starving the pump of fuel and burning it out. The banjo bolt kit from wildcatdiesel is excellent easy install and top quality product, I have there banjo's in mine and they work perfectly! As for the scotty 2 if you tow with your truck your WILL notice an EGT reduction with the scotty 2 I dropped about 75 EGT empty and almost 150 EGT towing with the scotty 2!
