What mod next for a good tow rig?

Ok, i'm pretty happy with the couple mods i've done. 100 plate, starwheel, and 5spd swap, but I feel a couple more would be good . I'm gonna do a 3 or 4gsk, Bhaf, and 4" straight pipe side dump. But other then that, what would be a good mod to make for a better tow rig? I'll be getting a bobcat to go along with the excavator soon, so tow wieght will usually be around 9k. I don't want EGT's to be a problem, because they aren't right now. I want alittle more power from 1400-1700, and from 2100-2600, because 1700-2100 has amazing torque.

I think the spray pattern on the 370's is off and can cause some surging issues.

I have a 62/14 with the 370s and with the starwheel in the factory pos it would surge at 50mph but now it will smoke till the boost is built. As for the EGTs the turbo cools good and clears all the smoke at wot. I have the factory 370s not the modded ones and at 1000 it will stumble. With the auto it wont let me lock the tc at 45. Don't know about a manual. Over all I am real happy with the combo. I can pull 13000 at 45 in 3rd gear with 500 on the pyro and boost at 0. Pulling the 5ver this weekend for an extended peroid so I will know more tomorrow night.

maybe a some ddp injector or smaller injectors and delivery valves. but definatly a turbo and your proably going to need a clutch, unless you got one already. that new double spring one i beleive is really nice. exhaust manifold not much on performance but cupled with a turbo makes a little difference.

Would it be a dumb idea to think about puting a 215 pump in place of the 160? Because from everything i've read, the 215 pumps with a plate, and gsk alone are a big step up from the smaller pumps with the same mods.

no that would work but its pretty expensive, delivery valves would help you 160.

if you put to much fuel you will get really hot. the turbo is expensive i would give garrett at puredieselpower.com a call tell him brandyn keller sent you and hopefully he will cut the price instead of hanging up on you

lol, i'll give him a call. I'll install the 3gsk first and see how it affects drivability, and maybe it will be just what I needed. Just hope I get that gsk in right.

I got my HTT HTB2 62/14 off of Ebay for $1165 SHIPPED WITH 4" HX40 downpipe. This was brand new.
I also heard that the HTT 62/14 with the 71 wheel spool a little slower than the HTB2 62/14.
I tow my camper (9000#) and cant get the EGTs above 1300-1400 no matter how hard I push her.

FWIW it can get annoying towing with straight pipe dumping before the wheel on a long haul. It only happened a few times but I was really annoyed with my exhaust on 8+ hour drives with the trailer...

Yea same here. Gave kinda of a pounding in my ears at 2000. Took off the straight 5 and went with a commercial 52" muffler and 4" out the back.
