You can straight pipe it for real cheap, just the price of a piece of pipe and a couple of 3" clamps. It'll give you the big rig sound for sure.

As mentioned, you could always straight pipe the stock system to get that big rig sound. That would be the less expensive way. Also you could purchase an aftermarket 4" or 5" kit and install it without the muffler. I just helped a buddy of mine take off his stock exhaust & install a 5" straight pipe system on his 2001 and it sounds awesome

thats what i was thinking. i've heard that the stock systems flow pretty good and for what little mods are done to my truck i should be fine. i think i'll pick up some pipe tomorrow and do it i might even put a 6 inch tip on it. i saw a pretty sweet one at my local truck accessory shop

a 5" sounds most like a big rig, since many rigs use 5" pipe.

4" sounds great and flows plenty.

straightpiped stock flows as well as it can, and sounds good fo cheap..

I'm still looking for someplace that I could buy a 5" tailpipe to adapt to my stock straight pipe. I got a 4" tip on now and sounds great, but I know that a longer, bigger tailpipe will change it a lot. Love going through the city with the straight pipe. Have to convince my wife to loose the kids for a night and go cruise downtown Nashville

The stock system with the muffler removed does not sound like a big rig to me, kind of half way between that and a decent fart you could be proud of.

The stock 3" system just doesn't sound good to me, too high pitched and raspy. A 4" system sounds a ton better with a deeper tone, and a 5" system will make it sound like an N14.

As far as the 6" tip....
