Question Boost with Juice= 27 lbs???

First off, thanks everyone for all the help I've been recieving here. I'm feeling really good about the direction my truck has taken lately!!!

That being said, I finally got the Juice all the way wired up on 5x5... On flat ground from a dead stop at WOT I am only building about 27lbs of boost which it will hold pretty much through all the gears. From what I've been seeing in other posts lately isn't that a little on the low side? What could need to be done?

I have a banks quick turbo setup with that big head wastegate dealy but I know nothing about it. Could an adjustment need to be made somewhere???

Thanks again for all the help. Bryce

Sounds like the wastegate might be set at 27#'s. I dont know anything about the banks turbo. But ya that sounds a little low.

The Banks housing is a 14cm2 housing and usually is wastegated in the high 30's.

Keep in mind, your Juice runs the boost off the Map sensor, which I don't think is as accurate as a mechanical gauge. I ran 31-32 lbs on my mechanical gauge and 30 on my Attitude monitor. I only have level one hooked up though(untapped).

Maybe you have a boost leak.

Maybe the Map sensor is not dead on.

I actually have my banks guages in the truck still, they read a touch higher but nothing really past 30 or maybe a touch higher... That being said, what should I be able to run. I never installed a boost elbow... maybe it has one already but how do you adjust them?

Thanks again guys, Bryce

With the larger housing you should expect less boost. With that said its usually an allen wrench to adjust a boost elbow, but I'm unfamiliar with banks stuff.

It has been my understanding the the 2nd generation just has a low topped boost as it is. I have seen my boost no higher than 28lbs w/ the juice/att.

Whats your back-downs set at on the attitude? Try disabling them for a run or two. With my max egt set at 1350 I can only hit 35-40 psi. With the back-down disabled (pressing enter twice rapidly) I can reach 45-50.

I didn't realize I had backdown set, but I'll have to check that too. I saw that the protection was turned off but I guess I didn't see the back down settings.... I'll check that out because I can't find leaks and I'm just not boosting much.

Thanks Guys

The protection you see that is off is for cold engine protection. When turned on it will back down the attitude until your engine reaches 150 deg. and then youll get 0% backdown until you reach your user set safe points.
On your monitor bring the backdown % up on the display and watch it. If its reading 0%, the attitude is not backing down for high boost, egts, cold engine, etc.
