What does it take to run in the 2.8 Class??

For you guy's running in the 2.8 class, What does it take to compete well in this class?? I thinking of running this class, but not sure how much more i need to do to engine to run it. That is my main concern, the rest of the truck, i'll be able to handle it, d-shaft loops, lockers, susp, etc. Here are my engine mods, what else do i need?? please be specific, like wat size turbo, injectors, camshaft, and so on.

12v motor
timming
cut fuel plate
300 injectors (guessing i'll need 370's?)
4k GSK
DV's
EEP Valves and springs
Head studs (plan on fire rings as well??)
SB Dual disk

Any help and info you have for a newbe would be great!!! Thanks

If you run in Indiana you are gonna need a minimum of 700hp to run in the middle of the pack. the top trucks are around 1000hp if not over.

12v motor with fly cut pistons, balanced, and studded on the bottom end
ported and polished head with a valve train for 5k rpms, fire rings, headstuds etc
custom camshaft
13mm p-pump capable of 5000rpms with at least 700cc's of fuel
big injectors matched to pump
custom S400 2.8 charger, something big thats bushed down most likely
5.13 gears

hum... I was thinking there was no bottom end work allowed, and cannot rev over 4,500 RPM's. maybe i'm thinking of the 2.6 class. I've only ran the street classes and don't know much about the upper classes. How competivite is the 2.6 class??
Here is the bind i'm in. I really want to make this a HOT street truck!! Sick of my buddies D-max's smoken me. I want to go with a big charger but i still want to pull and not be stuck in the big big class... Or is there now way of having both. I want to be smart with my money, and get the most performance i can. I still want to pull this in the county fairs and have fun.

About $50k. 25 to 30k in motor and pump setup and another 20 to 25k in your driveline. Then pray that you dont break anything.

alot of money and a truck that is no longer streetable!
the diesel truck deal to me seems just like the fast street car deal 10 yrs ago. it was cool few a few years then people started spending so much money that 95% of the people who started the whole thing can no longer afford to to have fun.
