What do i need next?

ok i have a 95 cummins with about 190k on it and i have a few questions first of all i have the 3k gsk in the pump and when i hit like 3k rpms in any of the 5 gears my truck starts sputtering but smoking like crazy i also have the marine 370 injectors 191 dv intake 5" exhaust no fuel plate and the pump is turned all the way up i am hitting about 42lbs. of boost in 5th gear with the waste gate on the stock turbo clamped but im not sure if my pump is going or what what do you guys think i should get next because i can pin my 1500 degree pyro gauge in 4th and 5th gear pretty easy so what do you suggest?

You need a turbo. Pretty bad. You know that your temps are to high, but you have your turbo well out of it's effiency range, and close to overspeeding. Chris Mayer blew a HX at less than 42 PSI.

Are you gonna still want more fuel after this, what is your ultimate HP goal?
Do you tow?

As far as the sputtering I'm not sure what would cause that. You might try tightening your governer springs a few clicks, see what happens, has it done that since you instaled them? Sounds like it might just be an adjustment issue to me...

If you want 600 hp you will really be looking at a set of twins. If I were you I would want to go that route now, you already have enough fuel for them. Many are VERY happy with the BD twins in that hp range. Or you could et a turbo to put under your HX-35, especiall if you hae the fab skills.

Not really sure on the price of twins, but even with you doing the fab work, you are still gonna be looking at $1500+ A big single wouldn't be a bad choice. The Phat Shaft and Super Phat Shafts have developed quite a fan base. You might look into one of them, someone should chime in with a size reccomendation soon.

But keep in mind that a single big enough to cool 600 hp will be (at least somewhat) laggy.

I would say one of two things, you either need more timing or you have an air leak in the fuel system. Both have caused a spudder in the top end on my truck.

if your wanting to support 600 hp on a single. you'll be better off with the silver bullet. (which is basically a II 66, only better)

Any turbo you'll have to wastegate to 45 psi or less. more is not always better. you can easily do 600 hp on 45 psi. However, if you do head work (can get expensive, but ususally 1500 or so) you can bump that up to 60 psi or so.

The phat shaft's have a 12cm housing and the super phat shafts have a 14cm housing.

The 64 will be to small for 600 hp

so what is the difference between the silver bullet and the sps 66 and do you think that will be enough air for now i am planning on doing more fuel soon such as a dragon pump but will those turbos work with that much power if not what would you reccomend for a single that does not have an incredible amount of lag? let me know what you think thanks again also have you heard much about the dragon pump that industrial injection sells and how much more flow it puts out compared to a stock pump?

the super phat shaft has an 71mm exhaust wheel while the regular is like 64mm or so. and no single is going to cool a race pump like i assume the dragon pump is. thats the kind of pump you need when your looking at 800+ (13mm)

A good 66mm charger (sps or pro street for example) and lots of timing 20+* and 4k springs should get you well into the 500's with 435's and laser cuts. youll still be hot but it'll be controlable and youll be able to live with the lag. anything bigger in a single would be untowable (like an full s400 from haisley/schied)
