What do I need to do???

What do I need to do to keep my egts down?

I want to be able to run the edge juice on 5x5 all the time but I just peg the pyro too quick. I've heard that people with my same set up are not running into egt problems like me, what gives. On level 5x5 if I floor it off the line the cars behind me will dissapear but the smoke clears up by second gear. But by then I have to let off of the pedal to control my egt's.

I have a stock Hx35 with a banks 14 cm big head wastegated housing, 4 inch exaust and the stock airbox with a k/n filter.

The only setting I can leave it in without hitting my 1250 degree setting is 2. On 3 I can leave it pegged for the most part but have to let up alittle.

I have the same prob with my set up (in sig) I could go with a bigger single, but because of my 91% TC, I would have a lot of lag. I am going to twins!

bigger injectors= higher egts, especially with the juice. You need to move more air, bigger turbo will surely help.

well if you have bigger injectors you should have atleast got a high flow air intake to get more air to go with more fuel. It would be a good idea to upgrade. If you read the diesel power mag they did a whole section on air intake systems, they found out there is really no gain to doit on its own, but in your case it would be a real gain. (my opinion only )

get the AFE but with all that fuel on the hx35, you are not gonna see much drop.

best turbos for your set up would be HTB2 62/12, or a phat shaft 62 from industrial injection. they spool well, cool well, and will make good power with the juice and 1.6's

Would a used htb2 for around $900 be a good deal. It is only about months old.

I just went out and turned off the warnings put it on 5x5 and the most I hit 1450egt. After a quarter mile run it smelled a little hot, kind of like burning plastic. But that went away and everything runs fine. I wonder how many times I can do that before something melts .

I ordered a Afe stage one so hopefully that will nock off a few egts....
