water/meth inj questions?

okay school me on if this is going to be a good idea or waste, with my current set up I see temps 11-1250 a couple times higher real quick. I dont tow alot. so keeping the head cooler for a longer duration will water/meth help. I really dont know much on the kits, and how they can be calibrated to inject. so tell me what I should know. thanks.

Reason you aren't getting any replies is because no one wants to write a book.

OK then:
I've had a two stage Snow injector on my 3500 for eight years with no problems.
The truck rarely has the gooseneck flatbed trailer unhooked and tows upwards of 26k lbs daily for five months out of the year.
I run 100% minus 45* windshield washer fluid from a 5 gallon tank in the bed.
Can't say I've seen any mpg or power increase but when it kicks on my egts instantly drop about 150*.
It keeps me in a higher gear for faster trips.
First stage kicks on at 15 psi boost, 2nd at 25.
Never tried any other brands but I'm happy with my Snow.
If I didn't tow so heavy don't think the setup would be worth it for me.

depending on what mixtures you use, water, windshield fluid, ect. it will vary how much it drops your egts. straight water is most effective for cooling.

From this description I wouldn't think water injection was even necessary. With a good setup and a progressive controller you wont hurt anything.

And like was stated, you just need to start looking at all the company's that offer kits. They usually have great rundowns on what water injection can do for you. And in the process of doing all that reading you'll pick up a few things. The most popular way of controlling the injection is through a boost controller. I kinda like the idea of a controller that injects based off of egt's. But from what I was told they are more problematic.

hey thanks and nice truck. yep I stopped by Rips shop this week and got a a new exhaust to drop my stack, and talked to him. I guess if I end up towing more or alot heavier I may do this other wise so far seems I can control alot better since I put the cam in.

have to wait some going to do the ball joints and axle joints and 1 hub, and hang the new 5 exhaust get rid of the stack. I will keep looking into this. I do think that with newer contollers out there tunning it the right way for how I drive i should see some bennies, if not cooling maybe some better fuel burn and extra kick. thanks for the help
