Warantee or Van Aaken?

I recently bought an older Van Aaken box for my 2002 HO. I went to install it and the plug on the injector pump has yellow tape saying VOID. My 1st attempt at mods on this thing so I was suprised. My truck only has 59k so I hate to void the warantee on it.

What to do?

Dave

Would you plug it in or wait until until the warantee was out?

I also have an 02 ho with the 6-speed. I bought the older Van Aaken about a month ago and I love it. My truck has 140,000 miles so it is already out of waranty. The box did make quite a difference, it goes through the gears much faster, the throttle response is much better. I also get same mileage even though I have my foot in it more. But if you don't need the extra power, I would keep the waranty.

Thanks for the reply. I suppose I'll try to sell it and buy something later.

I wonder if putting something like the RV275 injectors would cause any problem?

You have to decide if you want to become your own warrantee station or not. If you bgt the truck new, I would think after 50,000+ miles, you know if it's a good one or a repair queen?

I bgt mine used (13,000 miles) and drove it stock for 20,000 to be sure I was not being stupid by voiding part of my warrantee. I also talked to my local dealer...told him what I was doing...and he agreed to cover other parts of the warrantee, not directly affected by my mods.
I threw a fan blade into the radiator at 35,000 miles and dealer ignored my fueling box....because it was a problem they had seen in a few other stock trucks!

IMO, the 02's have the least problems of any model CTD, but it all depends on your comfort level!

Your last question - adding injectors is hard for the dealers to detect, so a lot safer for you, if maintaining warrantee is that important to you.

That is a good way to look at it. I bought the truck with 30k and now it has 60k. Just changed oil and filters and drove it. It seems to be quite dependable.

You could just sell it and buy a module that doesn't plug into the injection pump like the power puck or the ez.
