vp44 warranty ???

vp44 warranty ???

if your wire is not tapped what is the warranty on a factory vp44. is it years or mileage and is it possible to replace the spliced wire with a new harness Just thinking out loud. has any one here tried this. if you can't tell my vp is dieing I have had the 0216 code for over a year and I am getting dead pedal daily

vp44 is covered under the cummins warranty,as far as a spliced wire,im pretty sure u cant change the harness,II makes a plate that goes on the pump with a set screwso u dont have to tap the wire.

didn't know that a year ago when I tapped it but well a were of it now. so are you saying 100,000 mile warranty for the vp.

100,000 miles or 5yrs which ever comes first

on a replacement VP i thought it was lower than 100,000/5 year

I won't touch a pierced wire VP under warranty. DC might not pay the warranty claim back to the dealer if a core comes back with a pierced wire. Not sure if they stand by this, but I'm not going to be the one to try either.

Yup, warranty void if the wire is pierced or it appears to have been tapped somehow. Otherwise it's 100k/5 years whichever is first.

[EDIT]: Also, keep in mind... the 5 years is from the "in service date"... so if your rig is an 02 but sold off the dealer's lot in late '01, well you get my drift.
